Safeguarding and the promoting of welfare of children is key to all that we do at Jubilee and the effective management of our nurseries and holiday clubs. Parents and carers send their children to our nurseries and holiday clubs each day with the expectation that we will provide a secure environment in which their children can flourish. Our senior leadership and staff team are committed to this aim through their work and we expect all staff to share this. We also ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks in line with safer recruitment procedures along with other relevant employment checks. We recognise that all matters relating to safeguarding suitability checks are confidential.
It is vital that we identify children who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm and take appropriate action, with the aim of making sure that they are kept safe both at home and in a nursery / club setting. Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that any concerns about children are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
