Our Nursery Manager
It’s my role to manage and support our wonderful staff team and make sure that Jubilee Gems offers a safe and caring environment for children to develop and learn.
With many years of experience working in the early years sector and at Jubilee, I see my vocation as a real privilege. I get to meet and work in partnership with lovely families and the children are so natural and impulsive that many times a day they make me smile and laugh. Seeing them develop and achieve new things daily is incredibly fulfilling. It’s always very sad when it is time to say goodbye to children as they move on to school from Gems. However it’s also very rewarding to see children head off to the next transition in their lives and knowing we have helped to care for and contribute to teaching each child to be the unique individual they are.
Our Deputy Manager & Online Learning Journal Co-ordinator
I joined the Jubilee team in 2008 as a Level 3 apprentice. I then completed my Level 2 Team Leading qualification which has helped with the role I now hold. I am a cheerful person who loves arts, crafts and messy activities and can often be found in the middle of a large group who are painting! Seeing the enjoyment the children get from all they experience at Jubilee Gems is very rewarding.
I also take a lead role with the Nursery's online learning journal system - an innovative and interactive way of recording all the learning and fun of children's early years education during their time at nursery. It really helps build strong relationships between a child’s keyperson and the parent / carer and allows those precious moments at nursery and at home to be captured and conveyed in real time.
Our Tiny Twinkles Room Senior
As Room Senior for some of our very youngest babies I feel blessed to see the many changes as they rapidly develop and grow. The early months and years are so exciting and full of ‘firsts’. I am privileged to work with our families and play a part in supporting their children’s development.
Gems have a very special group of practitioners with their individual strengths which makes an altogether amazing team. The children, of course, are at the centre of all that we do and we strive to make these precious years truly exceptional.
Our Emeralds Room Senior
Ashton has a passion for working with children within the early years and a particular love for SEN. This makes her the perfect choice to lead our rising 3-year-old room and our designated SENCO for the nursery.
Ashton has a wealth of experience having worked in both school and nursery environments, which she is able to draw from and use in her current role.
“My role as SENDCO involves me regularly spending time with the children, liaising with key persons, the Senior Leadership Team, other agencies, and parents and carers to co-ordinate support for children and monitor their progress.
“It’s an incredible opportunity to be involved in watching them grow and develop, supporting their early years development and being a part of helping them to move onto school as confidant young people.”
Our Sapphires Room Senior
Georgie oversees our pre-school room and is our Forest School leader.
Georgie has worked with children since leaving school and sees her role as a real privilege. The children in her pre-school room are always immersed in imaginative play, messy play and arts and crafts, or can often be found taking an adventure in the nursery’s grounds or woodland.
With a passion for the outdoors and a love of mud, Georgie is the perfect Forest School leader. Never seen without her welly boots on, she has the ability to create fantastic adventures - whether it be discovering hidden dragon eggs that we need to care for or transforming into mud warriors before crossing the troll swamp. She builds independence and self-esteem in young children and fosters a love for the outdoors for years after they have left us here at Gems.
Providing breakfast, snack, a two course lunch and a tea for all of the children on a daily basis is a constant challenge, but one which I absolutely love! Putting nutritionally balanced menus together allows my creative side to spring into action.
It’s my role to source good quality ingredients and cater for any children with special dietary requirements. It really is a pleasure to see children develop a varied palate during their time with us and enjoy food!
