Our Nursery Manager
It’s my role to manage and support our wonderful staff team and make sure that Jubilee Gems offers a safe and caring environment for children to develop and learn.
With many years of experience working in the early years sector and at Jubilee, I see my vocation as a real privilege. I get to meet and work in partnership with lovely families and the children are so natural and impulsive that many times a day they make me smile and laugh. Seeing them develop and achieve new things daily is incredibly fulfilling. It’s always very sad when it is time to say goodbye to children as they move on to school from Gems. However it’s also very rewarding to see children head off to the next transition in their lives and knowing we have helped to care for and contribute to teaching each child to be the unique individual they are.
Our Deputy Manager & Online Learning Journal Co-ordinator
I joined the Jubilee team in 2008 as a Level 3 apprentice. I then completed my Level 2 Team Leading qualification which has helped with the role I now hold. I am a cheerful person who loves arts, crafts and messy activities and can often be found in the middle of a large group who are painting! Seeing the enjoyment the children get from all they experience at Jubilee Gems is very rewarding.
I also take a lead role with the Nursery's online learning journal system - an innovative and interactive way of recording all the learning and fun of children's early years education during their time at nursery. It really helps build strong relationships between a child’s keyperson and the parent / carer and allows those precious moments at nursery and at home to be captured and conveyed in real time.
Our Deputy Manager, Early Years Teacher & Pre-School Lead
Coming from a large family I was always surrounded by children, which I loved, and it somehow felt like a natural progression to make a career out of this. As Jubilee Gems' Early Years Teacher (having completed my training at the University of Reading) and Lead Practitioner for Pre-School, I am committed to supporting children as they transition on to the next stage of their learning journey and the all important leap to school readiness. It’s a great age group to work with, as the children are really starting to flourish with confidence and a new-found independence.
The children provide lots of laughter and there are magical moments each and every day which make my work so special. Gems is a great nursery to work in. It’s small, friendly and personal and I work with a truly committed team of people. There are great relationships between room staff and families and as a nursery team we work incredibly well together, complementing each others areas of practice and working together to understand the whole picture of each child and ensure continuity of care.
Our Emeralds Room Senior & SENDCo
Hi! My name is Sammie and I started my career in childcare in 2009. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Development and recently completed my Level 2 Team Leading.
I love the age groups I work with – every day brings fresh and exciting challenges and the children always make me laugh – they are brilliant fun to work with.
In my role as the Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator (SENDCo), I work with other practitioners and with parents, to ensure children with special educational needs get the right support and help they need. I really enjoy seeing children with additional needs achieve new milestones. We develop very special bonds as we work together.
I am also the manager of Jubilee Jets Holiday Club during the school holidays and it’s wonderful to continue to see so many children who started out with us.
Our Little Sparkles Room Senior
My role as a Room Senior is to ensure the day-to-day running of Little Sparkles. We perform an important role within the Jubilee family in caring for very young children and maintaining a high quality, stimulating learning environment in order for children to develop and grow as individuals.
Giving children the opportunity and confidence to reach their full potential is just fantastic. I love working in early years education: it’s the most rewarding job to have, seeing children progress and the happiness they show when they achieve something for the first time. Children have this amazing view of the world around them, making you see things in a whole new perspective. One of my favourite things about working with children is that you get so much back from them and you can’t help but laugh, smile and enjoy their company.
Our Tiny Twinkles Room Senior
As Room Senior for some of our very youngest babies I feel blessed to see the many changes as they rapidly develop and grow. The early months and years are so exciting and full of ‘firsts’. I am privileged to work with our families and play a part in supporting their children’s development.
Gems have a very special group of practitioners with their individual strengths which makes an altogether amazing team. The children, of course, are at the centre of all that we do and we strive to make these precious years truly exceptional.
Providing breakfast, snack, a two course lunch and a tea for all of the children on a daily basis is a constant challenge, but one which I absolutely love! Putting nutritionally balanced menus together allows my creative side to spring into action.
It’s my role to source good quality ingredients and cater for any children with special dietary requirements. It really is a pleasure to see children develop a varied palate during their time with us and enjoy food!
