This day was chosen as it is the 3rd Month and the 21st Day, symbolising the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.
Today at Jubilee Gems we all wore odd and colourful socks in recognition of WDSD and to help raise awareness.
The children have enjoyed looking at each others socks and even swapping socks with their friends!
We have set up a Just Giving page if you would like to support, with all the money going to ‘Down’s Syndrome Association’, the only charity in the UK dealing with all aspects of Down syndrome, enabling people who have Down syndrome to live full and rewarding lives.
