Forest School Adventures

Our Forest School children have been rolling up their sleeves to create their very own pizzas for lunch, and all whilst being outside in the woods.

This hands-on experience has given children the chance to discover new skill sets outside the confines of four walls.

As many as 20 children, aged between three- and five-years-old, made their pizza from start to finish. This included kneading the dough, selecting fresh, healthy toppings and transferring it to cook in the outdoor pizza oven.

The activity promoted physical coordination, developed social interaction, boosted self-esteem and encouraged language development.

For some children, it was their very first chance to cook in the open air, and for others, it was a chance to cook their very first pizza.

Like all activities at Jubilee, the pizza making experience was inclusive of all children, with staff offering food alternatives for children with food allergies or dietary requirements.

Jubilee’s qualified Forest School Leader said: “Experiences like these teach the children life skills and there's no better way than doing so outside in the woods.”
